Quarterly device audits for offline stacks

Annual reviews are where missing cables become folklore. Quarterly audits keep the story short enough to finish before lunch.

The twenty-minute core

Pull the register. Confirm each device is physically present or intentionally checked out. Verify seal photos still match. Note firmware only if you planned an update window — do not improvise upgrades mid-audit.

Rotate the spotlight

Each quarter, deep-check one category: cables, Faraday sleeves, spare screens, or recovery envelopes’ outer packaging. Rotation prevents fatigue and still covers the full kit across a year.

Close with a boring email

Send a three-line summary: what matched, what moved, what needs procurement. Boring emails are a feature; dramatic audits usually mean the previous quarter was skipped.
